TRANSLATION OF INTELLIGENCE EXTRACTS No.183. 31-8-39.
The enemy first intended to occupy Hong Kong
after the outbreak of the European War, and to end
the Sino-Japanese War when the countries in Europe
had no spare time to pay heed to the Far East.
It is learnt that the Japanese re-inforcements
on the border of Hong Kong were for attacking Hong
Kong, and the aerodrome built in NAMOA was also for
that purpose, but owing to the sudden change of
the European situation it appears that this plan
has been altered.
